Durrell of Trinity, was convicted of stealing tobacco and given 12 lashes.

They may have been using this church for no other reason than the fact that there were no Anglican churches in existence in Island Cove (Islington) or nearby at the time. The two children had been previously Christened as Anglicans and this is registered at St. Paul's in Trinity.
