Military: Appointed Captain of the 3rd Company of the local militia, 1757, St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. 5257 This was a precursor to the Royal Newfoundland Regiment, raised by the Crown for defence of the Colony by Col. Michael Gill of the Vice Admiralty Court, Robert Hutichings Jr. and George Hutchings were appointed as Lieutenants. Robert married. |
