Supreme Court, 27 June 1848 - Disagreement over the estate of Adam McLarty, tailor, of St. John's. The deceased was unmarried and he died in 1839. He was survived by his mother Ann (deceased in 1840), four brothers: James, Joseph, William, and Benjamin, and sisters: Martha, wife of John Colton; Mary, wife of George McCoubry; and Sarah, wife of Christopher Bolt. Brother Robert McLarty was a seafaring man and has not been heard of in fourteen years. Robert was to receive £189 of Adam's estate. The court orders that the Robert's share be divided equally between the surviving siblings.
