Individual Information
Birth Date: Cir 1747 - Ireland 4102 Christening: Death: 8 Aug 1843 - Ireland ( about age 96) 4102 Burial: After 8 Aug 1843 - Kilcomin, Shinrone, Offaly, Leinster, Ireland 4102 Cause of Death:Events
• Interesting: St. Cuimin's Bell was found by Patrick Heenan and preserved by his son-in-law, Patrick Quinlisk, 1810-1830, Kilcomin, Shinrone, Offaly, Leinster, Ireland. St. Cuimin's Bell:
Within the lands of Kilcomin, in the early 1800s, a poorly preserved bell, around 25 cm tall with soldering and riveted ends was found by Patrick Heenan. Upon his death on 8 August 1843 the bell was passed on to his relative [son-in-law] Patrick Quinlisk, who susequently gave the bell to Thomas Lawlor Cooke, a solicitor and antiquarian.
In 1854, the bell was presented to the British Museum, where it is still in their collection today. The bell, which is thought to date to 7th - 9th century is believed to be from the original monastery founded by St. Cuimin.
During the course of the graveyard survey [in 2022-2023], the headstone of the original finder, Patrick Heenan, was located, along with thae grave of Patrick Quinlisk (memorial numbers 60 [acually 62] and 20).

Notes
General:
130714:
I am making a huge stretch here by assigning Patrick Heenan and his wife Mary, née Ryan, as the parents of Catherine Heenan, the wife of Patrick Quinlisk. The dates don't really add up. But the epitaph on their gravestone, dedicated by a Patrick Quinlisk, whose wife's maiden name would have been Heenan, makes the possibility credible with some allowance made for incorrect dates. I will change this later if further information is found.
Here is the epitaph as it is transcribed on Historicgraves.com:
ECCE Agnes Dei
Erected by Patk Quinlisk
of Kilcommon in memory of
Patrick Heenan who
Departed this life August
8th 1843 Agd 96 years
Also his wife Mary Heenan
Alias Ryan who departed
March the 3rd 1841
Agd 85 years May they
rest in peace
Amen
180920:
I'm thinking now that they must have been her grandparents rather than her parents given the age difference, but again this will be difficult if not impossible to prove given the paucity of church records during those years.
