Arrived in New South Wales (Port Jackson) 19 February 1848 as an assistant immigrant on the "Hyderabad" described as a farm labourer (age 27) from Kilbeg, Tipperary, Ireland and was accompanied by his wife Julia (age 26) and children Ellen (age 4) and Eliza (age 2).

Headstone also mentions sons Michael (died age 4) and Ephriam (died age 18 months).
