The information on the parents of Thomas Keefe which I had was given to me originally years ago by Marie Skiffington and I never attempted to verify it. Today I discovered an Ancestry family tree belonging to Ronald R. Desmarais who is a descendant of this line and who has different parents -- Valentine Keefe (1792-1872) from Tipperary and Lucy Lanahan from St. Mary's Bay. Now I don't know which information to believe. I have written today to Ronald to ask for his sources and enquire about how vertain he is for this information.

"I found the following in research by Virginia Dillon (I kept seeing her name with regards to research on the Southern Shore, maybe Kevin knows who she is) at MUN. RE Headstone at FD: Erected by Thomas O'Keefe in memory of his father, Valentine O'Keefe (Tipperary, Ireland) Died July 5, 1872, age 80 yrs. I was thinking that this is the Thomas md to Mary Brennan."

This find supports the lineage proposed by Ronald Desmarais. I am awaiting confirmation of his information from his aunt and also a response from Marie Skiffinton on the matter.
