Nelson - Bowmer
The wedding of Miss Adeline Lilian Bowmer, only daughter of Mr and Mrs H. J. Bowmer, of Grey Lynn, and Mr Edmund James Nelson, only son of Mrs T. Nelson and the late J. E. Nelson, of Grey Lynn, took place on January 28 at St. Matthew's Church. The Rev. E Blackwood-Moore officiated.
The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of cream embossed satin cut with a close fitting long-waisted bodice with frilling on the yoke and waistline, and a full trained skirt. Her long tulle veil was held by a coronet of gladioli and she carried a bouquet of white roses, gladioli and cactus dahlias. Miss Audrey Davies, the bridesmaid, wore a gown of lupin blue moss crepe with a wide peplum, full skirt and bishop sleeves. The flower girl, Janice Bowmer, niece of the bride, was in a pink powder puff muslin frock. Both attendants carried bouquets of pink gladioli, roses and carnations and wore coronets to match. The best man was Mr Donald L Cassidy and the ushers, Mr L. Bowmer and Mr G. Kelly.
The reception was held at the New Savoy.

NELSON, Edmund James (Eddie). - (Second NZEF, Regtl No 29405, 24th Battalion. Ex Auckland Harbour Board). On September 13, 1990 (peacefully, after a long illness), at Auckland Hospital. Dearly loved husband of Addie, loved father of of Michael and Paul and father-in-law of Margaret, loved grandpa of Joseph, Claire and Christopher; aged 71 years. May he rest in peace. Requim Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Telford Ave, Balmoral, tomorrow (Saturday), at 11 am, the funeral then leavingfor the Servicemen's Lawn, Waikumete Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kidney Dialysis Unit (CAPD) would be appreciated and may be posted C/- Auckland Hospital. Davis Funeral Services, FDANZ.

Obituary
Mr J. E. Nelson
The death is announced of Mr. John Edward Nelson , of Onehunga, at the age of 72. The late Mr. Nelson was born at Stranraer, Scotland, in 1853. He followed a seafaring life until he settled in Onehunga in 1881. He was engaged for a number of years in local shipping with the Union and N.S.S. Companies, and was with the iron works at Onehunga during their term of operations. During his early life in Onehunga Mr Nelson was prominent in the Onehunga Naval Volunteers. Up to five years ago he was a waterwoks engineer for the borough council, which position he held for over 20 years. Since then he had been in indifferent health. Mr. Nelson was one of the oldest members of Court Pride of Onehung, A.O.F. He leaves a widow, four sons and 2 daughters all of whom live in Auckland except the elder son, who since the war, settled in Scotland.
