Note that the Gert Crosbie CD gives the date of the Reference (not the date of the event) as "07/01/1835". It is not clear whether this source uses American or British dating. But either way, there could not be a reference to the marriage on either January 7, 1835 or July 1, 1835 since the marriage date as found in the Vital Statistics was held on July 9, 1835. I suspect therefore that the announcements Gert read were prior to the day of the marriage, by way of an invitation to the wedding perhaps.
