mother's name was Bridget (Bridie) Theresa Rickert. She was born Aug. 11th, 1925. She Passed away July 12th, 1997. She had 8 siblings. Her father's name was John (Jack) Rickert. Her mother's name was Julia Ann Cooper. Her Grandfather came from Gdansk, Poland his name was Emil Rirkez Riskert, but he changed his name to James Rickert (I don't know anything about him before he came to St. John's).

I had 11 siblings, my parents were busy people, lol. I will get back to you on the rest of the info. In the mean time, I will change the subject

250212: Explanation from Gail Howell:

parents separated a few months after the death of my sister, in 1961. We were living on Forest Rd. at that time. My father ended up in hospital for about 10 to 12 months. My mother and I used to visit him every Sunday. He never came back to live with us, they both went their separate ways after that.

They both found new partners, but neither one ever got married. I don't know anything about the woman my father was with, I only knew he lived on Hayward Ave. He used to visit us sometimes but not very often and that stopped after awhile, as he went back to drinking.

We did get together occasionally when aunt Ruth, Edna and Peg came for a visit. My husband and I would pick my father up and take him to Ferryland with us.

My mother ended up with a partner. His name was Paul Riche, his sister's name was Nancy Riche, You are in Ottawa, so I guess her name should be familiar to you (NDP). They had 3 children together, Rick, Roger and Lorie. They were christened with (Carey) as their surname."

Leaving to mourn her husband Paul Riche; six daughters: Gail (Wayne Howell), Marlene (Charles Strong), Sharon, Yvonne, June (Stephen Eddy, Laura; eight sons: Donald, David (Georgina), Wade, Robert, Derek (Mary), Brian (Charlotte), Rick, Roger; sisters: Julia Hollett, Isabelle Keener, residing in the U.S.A., Jean (Edward Abbott); brothers: Ronald (Marie), Raymond (Marion); also a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends.
