General:
190710: Learned from Fredi Caines yesterday that Bernie has cancer and has had a kidney removed.

130711: Over the past year Bernie's cancer spread and he had to have brain surgery which apparently did not get all of the cancer according to Uncle Howard in an email today.

28111: Bernie passed away while I was home and I attended his funeral. Here is his obituary from the Telegram:

Bernard Joseph (Bernie) St. Croix

Passed on: August 5th, 2011 Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit, in the arms of his loving wife, surrounded by his devoted family, on Friday, August 5th, 2011. Bernard St. Croix, originally of St. Mary's, age 44 years. Predeceased by his mother Mary Ellen St. Croix, uncle Ed St. Croix, grandparents, Clifford and Alice St. Croix, Joseph and Isabell Butler and brother-in-law Jamie Morry. Left to cherish his memory, his wife Phyllis (Morry); 2 precious little children: Ian (age 3 years) and Eva (age 18 months); father Bernard (Ben); sisters: Rhonda Bursey (Tom) and Lisa George (Glen); father and mother-in-law Howard and Mary Morry; brothers and sisters-in-law: Gerard Morry (Michele), Brenda Fillier, Sandra Lushman (Derek), Howie Morry (Jackie), Keith Morry (Karen), Jeannie Reddy (Mike) and Karen Morry, also many dearly loved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Saturday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Monday, August 8th at 9:30 a.m. from Corpus Christi Church, Waterford Bridge Road. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Ian and Eva Trust Fund, Scotia Bank, Mount Pearl Square.
