Election: Returning Officer in the election for the 1st House of Assembly, 1832, St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. 1771 It isn't entirely clear to which Peter Le Messurier this refers, the father, properly known as Pierre Broom Le Messurier, who died sometime prior to 1847 and could have been involved in this election, or the son, Peter Paint Le Messurier, who was born in 1812 and could theoretically have played a part at the age of 20.
