General:
28 Apr 1857 is given as the date of death and 28 Feb 1857 as the date of burial in two different sources. One or both is wrong and I have no access to records to prove either of them. So I am reversing them today (111213) so that they make sense.

I still don't have access to original records, only transcripts, though of course I could pay to get the originals from Scotland's People to sort out discrepanties in transcripts. But a monumental transcription for George and his relatives in the Bellie Churchyard and New Cemetery perhaps gives some insight into earlier discrepancies on deaths and burials at least:

This does add one new mystery however. I have no idea who the last person named on the monument could have been. She was evidently a granddaughter, judging by her age a and date of death. She would have been born ca 1865 - much too late to be a child of the marriage. But of which son was she a child? Or was she possibly the spouse of one of the grandsons who was named by her married name rather than her maiden name?
