120108: A contact from Genes Reunited, Marian Paton, claims to have additional information on the ancestry and descendants of this couple. However, her dates for both of these people differ markedly as do some other details on locations so I am not sure that we are really dealing with the same people despite the fact that she has some of the same children listed for this marriage. Until there is greater certainty I am entering her information with reservations noted.

The information on James' occupation as an auctioneer and crofter was in my file from long ago and more than likely was introduced when I imported the Logie.ged file. I don't know this for a fact however and therefore am not entering this as the source now years after the fact.

A person going by the byline "rp107" on Ancestry began to contribute information on the immediate family of James McPherson a couple of days ago. I have sent messages online asking the person to contact me so that I can verify the sources of his information and reconcile some differences between his information and mine but so far he has not contacted me directly. Near as I can figure this person is a male whose intial and name are R. Pettitt and who is the son of Frederick Pettitt, born in Newcastle-Under-Lyme in 1913. I gather this from his ancestry profile and the fact that his only online family tree is of that immediate family. I have no idea what interest he has in the family of James McPherson. For now I am adding his information with cautionary notes that I am not able to verify any of it as to source.

Multiple versions of birth date. Choosing Aunt Jean's 1791 because it makes more sense that she would have married at 30 rather than at 40. But even at that this makes several of her children born when she was in her mid-40s. It is likely thre is still an error here.
