Notes
General:
160621:

Today I am adding Harriet to the family of John Brine and his wife Elizabeth (?) without any proof this is correct but on a strong suspicion that it is. Her daughter, Maria Antoinette Butteris, shows up on the 1861 Scotland Census of Catherine McLea as a "niece". In fact, this relationship is incorrect. However, if Harriet is indeed a daughter of John and Elizabeth Brine then their other daughter, Elizabeth would indeed be able to claim Maria as her niece, And Catherine McLea is the sister of Elizabeth Brine's husband Kenneth McLea. So this almost seems certain but requires further proof.

Proved already! Found her Vital Stats Birth-Baptismal record on Ancestry/FamilySearch showing the names of her parents.
