Martin G. Battcock - 94, of Kittery, formally of Hampton Beach, N.H. entered into eternal rest Saturday, July 19, 2014. He was born March 24, 1920 in St. John's Newfoundland, Canada to Thomas Battcock and Mary Sutton Battcock.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the British merchant Navy. After the war he graduated from Mcgill University and married Kathleen Dwane of Montreal. He worked in sales for Georgia-Pacific for many years. He was a business owner and real estate developer in Hampton Beach for more than 40 years. He spent many happy years sailing, playing tennis, and enjoying his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Kathleen; his children Martin G. Battcock Junior, Ann Kane and her husband John Kane, Colleen Battcock Conroy and her husband Thomas Conroy, and Freda Battcock Emerson and her husband Thomas Battcock Emerson, eight grandchildren Shea, Lynn, Joseph, Samuel, Madeline Battcock Emerson, and Thomas, William and Emma Conroy; and siblings Gladys Olvis, Margaret Szmyd and Chris Bergbauer.
He was predeceased by siblings Mary foster, Norman Battcock, Aubrey Battcock and Alice Benoit. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, August 6 at Saint Raphael's church 6 Whipple St., Kittery. A private committal at sea will follow.
